Set up where the footage lands first, then choose the route that fits the shoot: an upload link, a card reader, proxies through Frame.io, or a direct transfer.

Decide where the footage lands first

Pick the destination before the shoot: a folder on your cloud storage, your studio NAS or a local drive. Every route below delivers into storage you already own, so nothing has to be copied on to a separate service and then copied off again.

Upload links for people who are not on set

Choose a folder, send the link, and the files arrive in your own storage. Use it for a second unit, a client sending stock or an editor in another city. Upload links are included on every plan, including Free.

Camera cards on set

Mount a card through a computer with a card reader and it appears as a drive that Performm can work with. Local storage needs the desktop app.

Plan for a computer in the chain to mount the card.

Proxies through Frame.io

If your review happens in Frame.io, Frame.io can put proxies in a drive so your editors can start on them while the originals travel. Frame.io is a partner, not a rival. The integration works with the Frame.io API version 3 today.

Direct transfers between your own endpoints

When the originals need to move, peer-to-peer transfers go directly between endpoints, with no storage in the middle, using your own resources wherever they are. Unlimited Fastr transfers are included on Flow and Teams, with no per-gigabyte usage fees. Fair use: see the fair-use policy.

Drop into a shared drive, and use a NAS on set

On Flow, invite your editors to a shared drive and let them drag and drop files straight into it. A NAS on set connects over SMB and NFS, so the shoot's storage becomes part of the same view.

What it means for you

For the creator

Get footage into the edit as it arrives. Proxies in a drive let you start cutting before the originals land.

For the CFO

No transfer account per person and no per-gigabyte bill for moving rushes. Upload links are on every plan, and unlimited transfers start at $20 per user per month on Flow.

For the CEO

Rushes arrive in storage you own, not in someone else's. One route can serve every shoot, and clients never need your logins.
